I can't find the words to express what my Chhaya Youth experience has meant to me... You as an inspiring strong woman, and mesmerising force of movement and Chhaya Youth as a collective joy...
Jessy Mackay, EYDC 2016/17
Kay is an invaluable member of the professional dance community who brings something special and unique to the mix in Devon through her connection with Indian classical dance. She has a passion not just for her own dance but for sharing it with others and is very committed to helping develop the local dance sector.
We have learnt so much in just one day with Chhaya Collective, the children were dancing across the playground
A beautiful teacher with cheerful smile. She makes me feel very comfortable while dancing and even though I’m new to the style of contemporary, I believe I’m getting better because of the way she carries energy and encouragement in class.

Chhaya has taught me how to be more creative and understand my body when I dance..
Ella C Stanley, EYDC 15/16
Kay was born to be Artistic Director. She has extraordinary vision, drive and professionalism coupled with a deep sensitivity and spirituality. Working with Kay and Ajeesh on Antara felt like a blessing. Their talent, creativity and sheer hard-work made the experience truly magical.
- JoJo Spinks, Director at Interwoven Productions, Devon (2014)
It's really opened my eyes to contemporary, to different cultural influences and to use of your body ... I really can't condense it into words!
Willa Faulkner, EYDC 2015/16
Kay Crook is a passionate, hardworking and powerful Creative. Her enthusiasm and openness to new ideas and new ways of working is positive, refreshing and incredibly inspiring. I have worked with Kay in a Dance for Camera capacity where she expressed her gender identity through performance for camera as part of my Masters final project and thesis at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in 2010. I am very confident that Kay will deliver technical, inspiring and accessible workshops that will continue to inspire her participants for years to come.

The workshop was fun and informative for all. All children, regardless of their physical ability were able to access the dancing. The dance itself was broken down into small, manageable steps. The teacher was very child friendly, had great communication skills with the children and was able to adapt to the children’s needs.

Kayleigh is an outstanding teacher and choreographer and she created a great rapport with the students straight away. Her dance knowledge is amazing and she has a wealth of experience to draw upon. Kayleigh’s lessons are always dynamic and her choreography is consistently innovative and refreshing! I would highly recommend Kayleigh as a dance teacher or choreographer and I guarantee you won’t be disappointed!

A Magical & Eye opening year - I cannot express how much your beauty, grace & 'umph' has empowered me & how much influence you have had on me as a dancer and a young woman
Maya Adams, EYDC 2016/17
Kay has the ability and confidence to create a confluence of many vocabulary's and to find a new medium of expression through her art - and in that, I offer her my utmost support. I wholly support Chhaya Collective's work, vision and dedication towards discovering a common ground for cultural experience's to form a new fabric of movement aesthetic.

Kay & Ajeesh have been associated with our studio CDS since the start and we have been fortunate to be associated with them as guest faculty for our dancers. Both of them are exceptionally talented dancers and are brilliant teachers too. Their attention to punctuality, discipline, dance technique and personal attention to each student has helped our students to learn a lot over the year. One of their strengths is their ability to effectively communicate and provide constant encouragement to our dance team. We wish them luck for all their future endeavours.
- Saraswathi Rao Balla, Director CDS Dance Studio, Bangalore, India (2014)

A treat to have class with Kay. Each and every class there will be something new from her learn and the techniques. More over dance techniques and styles used in class are very precise. Amount of interaction with students is adorable. She gives life for each and every movement in a positive way. She uses some advance dance techniques throughout the choreography. More over we all love her a lot and class too.

What can I say about wonderful teacher, choreographer and a DANCER. Amazing in teaching, feels like been lost in her class and choreography. That’s what every dancer wants to be - LOST in dancing. Her classes are more lively and energetic. The amount of quality to class they give is outstanding. There is a saying – Positive energy in teachers reflects in students. That is what Kay does. Finally, CDS members would like to have more and more class from you in future and have some much to learn from you and Ajeesh. You guys are best. Keep up the good work. Keep dancing and all the best. Thank you for being a wonderful teacher for us.
- Chasse Dancer Raghu, Bangalore, India (2014)
The best trainers for contemporary in town. I say the best because they are very good at what they do and even more good at making sure that you learn too. Very professional and compose choreographies keeping in mind the student’s abilities in a way where it is challenging as well as easy and doable.
